Pittsburgh, Pa. – Seven non-conference home games at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse, participation in the Cayman Islands Classic and a full slate of Atlantic 10 games highlight the 2024-25 Duquesne University men's basketball schedule, released Tuesday.
The Dukes will open their 109th season of NCAA Division I basketball Monday, Nov. 4, at home against Lipscomb. It's the first of seven non-conference home games at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse, which also includes contests against Milwaukee (Nov. 19), Saint Peter's (Dec. 3), Delaware (Dec. 6), Maine (Dec. 11), UC Irvine (Dec. 21) and Cleary (Dec. 27).
Duquesne heads to Trenton, N.J., Friday, Nov. 8, to take on Princeton as part of the Deborah Heart and Lung Center Jersey Jam, presented by Gazelle Group. It marks the second consecutive year the Dukes will square off with the Tigers and is part of a doubleheader at CURE Insurance Arena. Temple will face Monmouth in the other game.
The first road game of the 2024-25 season is set for Friday, Nov. 15, at DePaul. The Dukes and Blue Demons are no strangers on the hardwood, as the two programs concluded a home-and-home series in December of 2022, with Duquesne never trailing in a 66-55 win at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse that marked the program's first win over a Big East program since 2002.
Duquesne will play three games in three days as part of the Cayman Islands Classic, beginning with a 1:30 p.m. tip against South Dakota State Sunday, Nov. 24, before returning home to host Saint Peter's Tuesday, Dec. 3. The Peacocks are one of three non-conference foes the Dukes are playing for a second consecutive year, as in addition to Princeton and Saint Peter's, Duquesne will also host UC Irvine at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse again.
The annual non-conference game in Akron, Ohio, at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School is slated for Saturday, Dec. 14, when the Dukes will face off with Towson at Lebron James Arena. Duquesne is 5-0 in neutral site games in Akron, Ohio, including 4-0 at Lebron James Arena.
Atlantic 10 playcommences Tuesday, Dec. 31, with the Dukes hosting Rhode Island at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. The first conference road game comes four days later when Duquesne heads to North Carolina to take on Davidson.

A quartet of A-10 games for Duquesne will be nationally televised, including two at home on CBS Sports Network.
The Dukes head to the Bronx, N.Y., Sunday, Jan. 26, for a 12:30 p.m. matchup with Fordham that can be seen live on the USA Network for their first nationally televised contest, while Duquesne's game at Dayton Saturday, Feb. 15, can also be seen live on the USA Network. At the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse on CBS Sports Network, the Dukes will host Loyola Chicago Saturday, Feb. 8, as well as a rematch of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship final Tuesday, March 4, vs. VCU.
In other Atlantic 10 matchups, the Dukes will host Saint Joseph's (Jan. 8), St. Bonaventure (Jan. 18), Dayton (Jan. 21), Massachusetts (Feb. 1), Fordham (Feb. 19) and George Mason (March 1) while also visiting George Washington (Jan. 15), Saint Joseph's (Jan. 29), Richmond (Feb. 5), Dayton (Feb. 15), St. Bonaventure (Feb. 22) and La Salle (Feb. 26). The regular-season finale for Duquesne is on the road, as the Dukes will visit Saint Louis Saturday, March 8.
The 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship is set for Wednesday, March 12, through Saturday, March 15, in Washington, D.C., at Capital One Arena.
Duquesne is led by Dru Joyce III, who was named the 18th head coach in program history March 28, 2024. Joyce III spent the last two seasons as associate head coach and last year helped guide the Dukes to an overall record of 25-12 (.676), including a mark of 10-8 (.556) in the Atlantic 10.
Thanks to four wins in five days at the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship in Brooklyn, N.Y., at the Barclays Center, the Dukes earned their first automatic berth to the NCAA Championship since 1977. In the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, Duquesne earned a 71-67 triumph of BYU, helping the program claim its first victory in the NCAA Championship since 1969.
The Dukes return a pair of starters and nine letterwinners back from last season, including junior forward David Dixon and sophomore guard Jake DiMichele. Dixon appeared in all 37 games last year for Duquesne, averaging 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds, while DiMichele produced averages of 6.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 30 contests. Duquesne also welcomes seven newcomers to its squad for 2024-25, including guards Tre Dinkins and Maximus Edwards and wing Jahsean Corbett.
