Mother Nature is an Alabama Fan (2024)

I’m convinced that Mother Nature is a Crimson Tide Alabama fan.

For over a week, we monitored the tropics for Helene to form. At one point, the models were all over the place, with no direction on the weather forecast for this Saturday's Alabama vs. Georgia matchup.

I want to point out the massive nature of this hurricane. It was HUGE.

Alabama fans held their breath as the track and cone became more established, hoping Helene would not impact the highly anticipated game between the Tide and the Bulldogs.

The Weather Channel said, “Helene made landfall at 1o:10 p.m. CDT Thursday night about 10 miles west-southwest of Perry, Florida, as Category 4 packing 140-mph winds.”

It bypassed much of Alabama, and impacts were concentrated in East Alabama.

Helene caused a lot of destruction along the path. Sadly, the death count is now at 3.

Also, over 2 million people are without power.

Now, “the system will sweep quickly northward through the Southeast toward the southern Appalachians and Ohio Valley with strong, possibly damaging wind gusts, flooding rain, and isolated tornadoes,” said The Weather Channel.

Today, portions of Alabama are under a “Wind Advisory” issued by the National Weather Service in Birmingham. Click here to read more.
